A History of Excellence
Citynet was founded in 2000 by several leading insurance professionals and we have established ourselves as a leading independent Lloyd's Broker, well thought of in the London Market.
Originally based in a small office in Beckenham the company grew quickly and opened a London office in 2001 and one year later moved all its operations into Artillery Lane on the fringes of the City.
A period of growth followed with Citynet establishing itself in the London Market specialising in Liability, Property, Professional Indemnity and Binders. During this time Citynet acheived its full Lloyd's accreditation and also opened offices in Wales and Ireland which have since been sold.
In October 2007 Citynet relocated into the heart of the City on the prestigious Fenchurch Street just minutes from Lloyd's Building, this has enabled us to access the market instantly which provides our clients with fast responses and first class security.
During 2008-9 we rose to a core staff of seventeen comprising of expert Brokers, experienced Account Handlers, dedicated Claims Department supported by the Finance and Compliance departments. Our people are carefully selected and we have an excellent record of staff retention and enrichment.
The troubled economy in the UK and Ireland through 2009 offered very difficult trading conditions but also opportunities , and Citynet were delighted with their results during this period with a 20% income growth for the period 2009-10.
2010 marked our 10th anniversary and we celebrated with two functions one in Dublin aboard the MV Cill Airne and one in London at the 8 members club.
During 2010-11 the results were again very pleasing with 15% growth in income and we have made further investment in quality staff during the first half of 2011.
With this further expansion we are now approaching 30 staff and believe we are well placed to continue our success into 2012 and beyond.
